da prosport bet: Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has revealed that the club attempted to sign Daniel James in the summer before his move to Manchester United, per The Daily Mirror.
What’s the word?
James completed a £15m move to Old Trafford from Swansea City in June and has made an impression at his new club.
Indeed, he has made nine Premier League appearances, scoring three goals, against Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Southampton, and also providing one assist, against Liverpool.

However, he could have been lining up for the Canaries had they had their way.
Farke said: “He is a player I always liked and I tried to see if there was chance we could work together.
“Sadly when Man United calls there is no chance for Norwich to get a player.
“I’m not surprised he had become a key player for them so early. All respect to him because he is already crucial.”
Excellent scouting
This points to an excellent scouting system at Norwich.
James, clearly, has immense talent and is already a key member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
Norwich, of course, brought in a number of players over the summer, including the likes of goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann from Schalke, defender Sam Byram from West Ham United and Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts.

They, like James, have already made an impression at this level, claiming the scalp of City, though their only other win came against Newcastle United.
However, if anything can be taken from this it is that those signings should soon start to motor; their scouts clearly know talent when they see it.
Once they have properly bedded in at Carrow Road, their form should pick up.
Fans, then, may rest easy.
