da bwin: Rumours over the course of the past few days have linked young Ross Barkley with a move away from Everton. Both Manchester City and Chelsea are thought to be leading the race, with the duo keen to spend massive fees to snap up one of English football’s very best talents. Barkley has already shown what he’s capable of in the Premier League and for England, and the future looks bright for the 20-year-old.
da aviator aposta: But should he reject City and Chelsea to sign for… Liverpool? The mere thought of this will anger Toffees, but the move could, perhaps, make sense for Barkley, even though he’s a lifelong Blue.

He could be the new Steven Gerrard

With both players hailing from the city of Liverpool and comfortable in attacking areas, there have been natural comparisons drawn between Gerrard and Barkley. There is no doubting the Everton man’s raw potential, so how good could he be if he learns from, arguably, the very best English midfielder of his generation?
With Gerrard now at the back end of his career, there is the opportunity for Barkley to take on the baton and become a true great.
Liverpool fans want him
Everton fans, understandably, would loathe the idea of Barkley in the red shirt of their foes, but Kopites are indeed keen to have Barkley on board.
With the fans on his side, the 20-year-old could be an idol at Anfield.
He would be given a chance under Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers has shown a willingness to back young players in recent times. Raheem Sterling and Suso were mainstays in his XI when he took over at Liverpool despite them being raw teenagers at the time, while the average age of his side has crept down over his tenure.
So the Northern Irishman would almost certainly make a player of Barkley’s ilk a key member of his team and give him the freedom to express himself in an exciting and attacking set-up.
He could stay in his home city
There may not be much made of it in modern football, but moving away from your home and family ate a young age is extremely difficult. A switch to Liverpool would allow Barkley to stay in his home city while moving up a notch (no disrespect to Everton) in his career path.
Carragher supported Everton and played for Liverpool
Perhaps the most famous example of Blue turned Red in recent memory is Jamie Carragher. The Anfield hero supported Everton as a youngster (a fact he’s made little secret of), but his passion for his side was never in doubt. In many ways the two clubs are very similar in set-up and ethos, which could smooth a possible transition or Barkley.
