da dobrowin: Queens Park Rangers grabbed their first points of the season with an impressive 1-0 away win against Everton. After their heavy opening day defeat Neil Warnock and QPR desperately needed a good result, with Tommy Smith ensuring the points thanks to a first half strike.
da mrbet: Everton looked the better side early on, coming close when Leighton Baines hit the crossbar with his free-kick. But it was the Premier League new boys who took the lead thanks to Smith. With half an hour gone Smith did well to curl a shot past Tim Howard and into the net.
The home side had plenty of chances to draw level, the best of which fell to Tim Cahill but the usually clinical Australian failed to convert with a handful of opportunities. The one bright spot for Everton was the introduction of 17-year-old Ross Barkley, who enjoyed an impressive Premier League debut.
But for QPR it was the perfect reaction to the takeover from Tony Fernandes and gave the London side hope that they can really compete in the Premier League this season.
